Food is a part of our daily lives. What we eat, how it gets to us, the ways in which it is grown, produced, and/or processed – all of these things have far-reaching effects on our society and our environment. As part of Gator Dining’s commitment to sustainability, we strive to source as much of our food from local and organic sources as possible.  By reducing our carbon footprint, we can help UF reach its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025.

We place preference on purchasing locally in three tiers:

1. From within 250 miles of campus
2. Within the state of Florida
3. Within the Southeast U.S. (GA, AL, TN, SC, NC, MS)
